Experience the Alexander Technique!
I’m a nationally-certified Alexander Technique teacher in Kent, Ohio and the New York City area, whose students have ranged from ages 7 to 96 and have come from various professions and life experiences.
I remain passionate about passing on the Alexander Technique as an empowering, common-sense tool and skill (perhaps, even, a "life hack") that can help anyone who wishes to learn it and is willing to put it to use.
Is the Alexander Technique for you?
The Alexander Technique can be used by almost everyone.
It's extremely useful for people with injuries and various illnesses and conditions (short and long-term), for technology and business people (anyone who sits at desks/ computers for long periods of time), and for people who do public speaking (it helps address voice, posture, stamina, and performance anxiety).
The Alexander Technique can help prevent injuries for people who work by improving mindfulness about movement and posture. Because it addresses balance as well as control, specificity, and economy of movement, it can help athletes, dancers, musicians, and anyone who walks or runs.
Currently, it is seen most frequently as part of the training programs for actors, singers, and musicians at institutions of higher-learning such as Julliard (in the curricula since 1969), NYU, and the Royal School of Music.
Most people learn it through a series of 1:1 lessons or in combination of private and small-group classes.
